Educational Programming at MSSEC

Department of Natural Resources Firearm "Hunter Safety" Classes

The purpose of Minnesotašs Firearms Safety Training Program is to promote the safe and responsible use of firearms and other hunting equipment and to emphasize the importance of wildlife management, laws and regulations so that students will obtain a better understanding of their obligations to the resources, the landowner, other hunters and to themselves.

MSSEC offers 10 classes per year to over 400 youth. Along with the use of the range and classrooms MSSEC offers an outdoor hunter safety-walking trail to demonstrate hands on gun handling. Check the calendar for dates and times.
